Lancer evo X – a new generation evolves

Sometimes called the ‘poor man’s supercar’, the new Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X is set to take the all wheel drive performance crown away from Subaru. Bursting on to the world stage at the Tokyo Motor Show in October of last year, the new Lancer Evolution X is an all-wheel drive sedan powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine. According to manufacturer Mitsubishi ‘The development goal for the new Lancer Evolution X was to make the car as fast as possible, while also making it as safe to drive as possible.’ Set to hit the Australian market in March or April of 2008, the brand new Evo X will be on display at the 2008 Adelaide Motor Show.

Heads – Mazda 6

The new second generation Mazda 6 is set to eclipse all that has come before it. With its exciting styling and driving performance the all new Mazda, promises to delight all that see it and drive it. Mazda refer to the new being ‘like a highly trained athlete, delivering the outstanding dynamic performance famously synonymous with Mazda brand’. Available in sedan, hatch and wagon body styles, the new Mazda 6 comes with a bigger 2.5 litre engine, 6-speed manual and 5-speed auto transmissions and is equipped with some of the latest of safety technologies available. The Mazda 6 is on display at the 2008 Adelaide Motor Show.

Falcon Spreads Its Wings

Due to hit the showrooms in May this year, the new FG Falcon is being touted as the model to return Ford to the top of the sales tree. Ford Australia’s president Bill Osborne said at its recent launch, ‘We tend to compare ourselves to domestic competition, I told our engineering team we should be comparing this car to the best sedans around the world’. With claims the FG is ‘90% new’, big improvements in fuel economy, safety and styling will certainly turn heads in the large passenger vehicle segment. Make up your own mind when the new FG goes on display at this year’s Adelaide Motor Show.

It’S Czech, Mate

Offering European styling and engineering at Japanese prices, Czech based Skoda has returned to the Australian market after a two decade long absence with two new models that are causing a real stir in motoring circles. Building upon the marque’s rebirth after joining the Volkswagen group, the new Octavia and Roomster models display a ‘funky and sporty’ edge that fits in perfectly with the Australian active, outdoor lifestyle.
